Ireland has an impeccable track record for attracting foreign direct investment over the last 50 years. The Invest in Ireland Awards exist to honour the companies behind that success story.
The FDI sector is a major part of the Irish economic success story. Since 2018 the Invest in Ireland Awards have shone a light on the positive contribution that these companies make — not only through investment and job creation, but through their integration into the community and the fabric of Irish life.
Each year entrants tell us the awards play a key role in raising their profile nationally and internationally, attracting new investment and employees, boosting staff morale, opening networking opportunities with other entrants and partners, and helping them refine their vision and mission through the entry process.
The Invest in Ireland Awards recognise the contribution of the FDI sector to the Irish economy and society — a real celebration of these businesses and their commitment to Ireland, now and into the future.
The FDI Hero Award honours an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the FDI ecosystem in Ireland. Unlike the other award categories, the FDI Hero is chosen by a separate panel of judges rather than through the standard entry process.

Every other category in the Invest in Ireland Awards recognises the achievements of an organisation. FDI Hero is different — it exists to celebrate the people behind those achievements: the individuals who have gone above and beyond to strengthen Ireland's FDI ecosystem, whether through leadership, advocacy, mentorship, or long-standing service to the sector.
Anyone can put an individual forward for FDI Hero — including nominating yourself, a colleague, or a contact elsewhere in the sector.
Outline the nominee's contribution to Ireland's FDI ecosystem — their impact, leadership, and the difference they have made.
Nominations are reviewed and the winner selected by a separate panel of judges, distinct from the category judging panel.
There is no entry fee for a nomination, and nominations are treated in the strictest confidence.
